Health-wise badminton is an aerobic exercise, it will keep you fit and well toned. But it’s not just physical – badminton is a game of tactics and outsmarting your opponent, giving you a mental workout as well. You will see benefits in your flexibility due to twisting, turning and stretching during play, hand-eye coordination and your reflexes. In one hour of social badminton you could burn up to 400 calories, that’s two slices of pizza!
As Director of Badminton at Surrey Sports Park, I’d like to invite you to try your hand at playing the fastest of all racket sports. The game is incredibly exciting, and suitable for all ages and abilities, and our attendees are very welcoming.
Come along and try our No Strings pay-and-play sessions, weekly club night or even occasional adult coaching days. Most sessions are level doubles and we also offer a ladies-only session during the week, which has proven a real hit.

From Saturday 19th September, it will be essential for every person in Surrey Sports Park’s communal areas to wear a face covering. This is in-line with the campus-wide policy introduced by the University of Surrey.
The policy does not apply whilst taking part in sport and exercise and activity areas are exempt.
The University considers that the responsibility of wearing a face covering sits with individuals and we expect all our staff, students and public to adhere to this requirement where possible.
Please be mindful and respectful towards members of our community who, due to exceptional circumstances, may be unable to wear a face covering; their reasons may not be visible to others.
