Adult Swimming

It’s never too late to learn how to swim or develop your stroke technique. We offer a range of adult swimming lessons, whether you’re an absolute beginner, looking to use swimming as a fitness tool or improve an element of your stroke.

Our Adult Swim programme

Our Adult Swimming Lessons follow Swim England’s teaching plans. With lessons starting from £32 per month, you will have access to a 46 week programme and free access to the pool to practice at any time (subject to pool opening times). Progress is tracked by swim teachers via tablets, with results uploaded to Home Portal so you can track your progress and see what components require some additional practice outside of lessons.

When are Adult swimming lessons?

Group swimming lessons take place on Monday evenings from 19:15 – 21:15 and again on Tuesday mornings from 09:30 – 10:45.

Bookings & Private Lessons

If you are looking to learn to swim on a more personal basis or are looking to improve a specific aspect of your swimming technique, we offer 1:1 private lessons Monday – Friday at a range of times. If you are looking to book these or would like some more information, please email swimacademy@surrey.ac.uk.

Please be aware the Swim Academy Team are currently working remotely and will not have full-time access to the Swim Academy phone. However, they are responding to emails continuously so we would recommend email.

ADULT SWIMFIT SESSIONS

If you are looking for a session that is led by a qualified coach, then our SwimFit Sessions will be for you. Following a more tailored structure including drills, sets and timed swims, these sessions will help improve your swimming fitness, technique and stamina.

Guest Notice – Face Coverings

From Saturday 19th September, it will be essential for every person in Surrey Sports Park’s communal areas to wear a face covering. This is in-line with the campus-wide policy introduced by the University of Surrey.

The policy does not apply whilst taking part in sport and exercise and activity areas are exempt.

The University considers that the responsibility of wearing a face covering sits with individuals and we expect all our staff, students and public to adhere to this requirement where possible.

Please be mindful and respectful towards members of our community who, due to exceptional circumstances, may be unable to wear a face covering; their reasons may not be visible to others.

Thank you,

Surrey Sports Park
