The British Mountaineering Council recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or
death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks by completing our required paperwork before climbing and be responsible for their own actions. Please get in touch if you would like to see our Conditions of Use, or have any questions regarding centre policies.
Climbers should wear loose and comfortable clothing (we advise against skirts and dresses). Closed toe, secure footwear such as trainers must be worn.
We rent out climbing shoes, in case you don't have any appropriate footwear. We recommend that watches and jewellery are removed and long hair is tied back. Loose items must be removed from pockets before climbing.
Hi- welcome to the Surrey Summit Climbing Centre in Guildford.
I became Manager of Surrey Summit in 2017. We have a thriving climbing community at Surrey Summit and a range of entry points, no matter your level. My goals are to nurture Surrey Summit to continued success, climb 8a before I’m 30, and be in Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics at which Sport Climbing will make its debut!
Look forward to meeting you soon.
Callum Taylor, Surrey Summit Climbing Centre Manager
