Manual Therapy

What is Manual Therapy?

Manual therapy refers to a method of treatment that utilises specific hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat soft tissue and joint injuries. Treatment may include moving joints in specific directions and at differing speeds and intensities to regain range of movement, muscle stretching or moving against some resistance to improve muscle activation. Specific soft tissue techniques such as sports massage or trigger point therapy may also be used alongside, to further improve mobility and function of muscles.

Through this approach, your therapist will be able to treat pain, increase range of motion, bring about muscle relaxation, improve pliability and alignment of scar tissue, promote tissue repair and ultimately improve overall function.
