SSP Update

Following the Government announcement on the 12th July we wanted to let you know what procedures will be changing here at Surrey Sports Park from the 19th July.

General Access

Members will no longer need to queue outside before they access Surrey Sports Park, you will access Surrey Sports Park through the turnstiles using their membership cards. All our changing room and shower facilities will be open and available to use.

If you have lost your blue membership card then please speak to a member of our front of house team when you next come to Surrey Sports Park and they will be able to issue you a new one.

Gym

You will no longer need to book in advance to use the Gym and all equipment will be reintroduced. Members will need to swipe their blue membership cards to access the gym. If you have booked a personal training session you will now be able to meet your PT in the gym rather than in reception. We ask that all gym users please continue to wipe down and clean all equipment they use after their session.

The Treatment Room

When you arrive for your Treatment Room appointments please let our front of house staff know and they will let you in through the turnstiles. You will meet your therapist in the waiting area outside the Treatment Room. All patients will still be required to wear a face covering and our therapists will remain in PPE.

Sports

All Tennis, Badminton, Squash and Basketball courts will follow the same procedures as usual.

Swimming

You will no longer need to book in advance to use the swimming pool. The changing rooms and showers will be open and available to use.

The Sauna and Steam rooms will not be reopening straight away but we hope to have them available soon.

Climbing

You will be asked to sign in on arrival at the climbing wall. You can book your arrival in advance via the website or we are welcoming walk in bookings.

Starbucks

We will be removing the one way system in Starbucks and adding additional seating. Starbucks will remain a cashless venue.

The Bench Sports Bar

There will be no table size limits in Bench and guests will be able to stand at the bar. Guests will still need to order food and drinks via the round app. Bench will remain a cashless venue.

Group Fitness Classes

We will be increasing the capacity for all our group fitness classes in line with the new guidance.

Covid Measures

We will still have facilities available for cleaning of equipment and touch points. Please continue to assist us in keeping Surrey Sports Park safe by using these during your visit.

We want to thank all of our wonderful members and staff for your kindness, understanding and support during this difficult time.

We hope to see you soon,
The Team at Surrey Sports Park

Guest Notice – Face Coverings

From Saturday 19th September, it will be essential for every person in Surrey Sports Park’s communal areas to wear a face covering. This is in-line with the campus-wide policy introduced by the University of Surrey.

The policy does not apply whilst taking part in sport and exercise and activity areas are exempt.

The University considers that the responsibility of wearing a face covering sits with individuals and we expect all our staff, students and public to adhere to this requirement where possible.

Please be mindful and respectful towards members of our community who, due to exceptional circumstances, may be unable to wear a face covering; their reasons may not be visible to others.

Thank you,

Surrey Sports Park
