On Saturday 9 June, the NHS and parkrun UK will jointly host NHS70 parkrun day to mark the NHS’s 70th birthday. Launched by double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes, over 160 local parkruns will be hosting special events to celebrate the contribution of the NHS to the nation, whilst encouraging people to get active.
parkruns are free, 5k events that take place in hundreds of locations across the UK every Saturday morning. They are coordinated entirely by volunteers and are open to walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. Why not get involved in NHS70 parkrun day? You can run, jog, walk or volunteer. For more information, including details of participating parkruns, visit: www.nhs70.nhs.uk/parkrun.
SSP Statement – Covid 19
Following the most recent government announcement regarding Covid-19, Surrey Sports Park will be temporarily closing from Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December.
We will be re-opening on Wednesday 2 December 2020.
For our full statement and more information please visit our news page.
Keep safe and well during this time and we hope to see you back at Surrey Sports Park again soon!
From Saturday 19th September, it will be essential for every person in Surrey Sports Park’s communal areas to wear a face covering. This is in-line with the campus-wide policy introduced by the University of Surrey.
The policy does not apply whilst taking part in sport and exercise and activity areas are exempt.
The University considers that the responsibility of wearing a face covering sits with individuals and we expect all our staff, students and public to adhere to this requirement where possible.
Please be mindful and respectful towards members of our community who, due to exceptional circumstances, may be unable to wear a face covering; their reasons may not be visible to others.
