After graduating from London Metropolitan University in 2013 I have worked in private practice with a variety of clientele and extensively within the Netball Super-league, the British Basketball League and Premiership as well as amateur Rugby.
In both settings I have gained valuable experience in rehabbing individuals back to not just day-to-day life, but to a desired level of sport/activity, whether that is at a professional or recreational level.
Over this time I have been able to develop my clinical skills to include a range of treatment methods, for a large range of injuries seen in individual sport as well as within team sport settings.
I am passionate about the health benefits of exercise throughout life and helping clients get back to whatever they want to do as quickly as possible.
My clinical approach is eclectic and influenced by study and practice over the years of yoga, pilates, shiatsu, acupuncture, nutrition as well as osteopathy. I am also passionate about learning and education – I teach osteopathy and continue to study and develop my own knowledge.
I am currently completing an MSc in Sports Rehabilitation. I am registered with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy and recognised by all major insurance companies.
I have five years of postgraduate experience, working in both the NHS and elite sports settings. In the NHS I gained experience treating a wide range of conditions from sprains and strains, to hip replacements, ACL reconstructions and spinal pain.
I have now specialised in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy and I am currently working full time with Harlequins RFC. I aim to use a combination of ‘hands on’ and exercise-based treatment to both prevent and rehabilitate injuries. I am also happy to provide acupuncture treatment upon request.
Working within a multidisciplinary private practice, with a vast clientele from the elderly to bodybuilders and athletes is where my experience lies, with the added advantage of having also worked within a semi-professional women’s football team over the last season.
Working within a clinical setting as well as within a sports team has solidified my passion for a well-rounded approach to treatment, within the clinic and in the gym. Both roles have allowed me to gain valuable experience in rehabilitation and allowed me to develop my confidence as a Sports Therapist, utilising a range of treatment methods; specific to each client’s needs and goals.
I have 12 years experience of private practice and elite sport and boast seven years working at Surrey Sports Park.
Initially working for Optimum Fitness, I was quickly recruited to provide therapy services for Surrey Storm Super-league Netball squad during training and on match days and further went on to work with Surrey United & Surrey Scorchers BBL squad.
Coming from a teaching background, with 4 years in further education and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, my aim is to give my clients the knowledge and power to improve their condition whilst away from The Treatment Room. I am dedicated to fitness, in particular strength training, so understand the frustrations an injury can cause, but this passion also provides me with empathy to channel those frustrations positively.
As The Treatment Room manager Danielle has used her wealth of experience, in particular at Surrey Sports Park, to recruit a team of practitioners to suit all needs and provide the standard of treatment one would expect from an elite sporting facility
