Adult hockey at Surrey Sports Park

Team Surrey Spartans is a Hockey club with a mix of ladies and men’s teams with a strong link to the University of Surrey having a strong following of students mixed with external players across two men’s team and one ladies’ team.

Club Training

This takes place on a Thursday evening:

  • 19:00 – 20:30 for the ladies’ section
  • 20:30 – 22:00 for the men’s section

The training is led by our Head Coach Kristian Browne who oversees both the Club and University teams which gives us an organised structure and style of play that flows through all teams. We aim to provide high level coaching to all abilities to help you progress and develop as a hockey player.

As a club we pride ourselves on being very open with team selection and everyone is given opportunities to push themselves into higher teams, meaning that for the 2019/20 season we will be adding a Ladies 2s team to give access to more players to get involved with hockey in central Guildford.

Men’s 1st  play in Surrey Division 1

Men’s 2s play in Surrey Open League Premier Division

Ladies 1s play in Surrey Division 3

Summer Hockey

We run two hockey squads through the summer playing at Woking 7’s each week for those who are looking to play hockey all year round. We also host a Summer 6’s tournament at Surrey Sports Park.

    Guest Notice – Face Coverings

From Saturday 19th September, it will be essential for every person in Surrey Sports Park’s communal areas to wear a face covering. This is in-line with the campus-wide policy introduced by the University of Surrey.

The policy does not apply whilst taking part in sport and exercise and activity areas are exempt.

The University considers that the responsibility of wearing a face covering sits with individuals and we expect all our staff, students and public to adhere to this requirement where possible.

Please be mindful and respectful towards members of our community who, due to exceptional circumstances, may be unable to wear a face covering; their reasons may not be visible to others.

    Thank you,

    Surrey Sports Park
