Please book your session before arriving at Surrey Summit.
Public Climbing bookings can currently only be made online by clicking here.
Public Climbing sessions are free to our Full Access and Sports members. You will need to have registered on our online booking platform linked here.
For non-members, a 90-minute session is £10 during peak times and £8.50 during off-peak times. Please note that the session time includes checking in and any necessary safety tests. We also offer a lunchtime special climb from 12:15-13:45 on weekdays costing £6.50. Our peak times are from 4pm-close Monday to Friday.
If you have created an online account and you are an experienced climber you do not need to have visited the centre before. However, upon arrival you will need to pass a safety test for bouldering and / or ropes to access the centre. The test will include a basic bouldering hazards perception test, putting on a harness, tying in and belaying (for rope climbers only). We will also ask you to sign a paper waiver form. If this test is not passed you will not be able to use the centre. We are not offering Boulder Inductions at this time.
Access to the Climbing Wall is only permitted to those who have pre-booked via the online service.
Please arrive on time for your climbing session and leave promptly at the end of your booking.
On arrival please proceed to the front of the building where you can check in at the main Front of House reception. You will then be sent through to the Climbing Wall Reception where we will check that the correct safety information is on your account and answer any climbing queries that you may have.
A keep left policy is in place on all pathways and corridors to encourage social distancing and we ask you to follow this. We also have signage encouraging social distancing and detailing the Association of British Climbing’s guidance which is displayed around the centre.
15 Minutes have been allowed between sessions for cleaning time and to ensure the last group has left the wall before your arrival.
Our maximum number on a Public Climbing Session is 30. Social distancing must still be followed unless you are from the household. This applies both on the climbing wall and during breaks.
It is recommended that you sanitise your hands in between every climb.
Unfortunately, we are only allowing over 18 experienced climbers in the centre at this time. We will be continuously reviewing this so please follow us on social media for the latest updates or check back here for more information.
Spectators are also not permitted at this time.

From Saturday 19th September, it will be essential for every person in Surrey Sports Park’s communal areas to wear a face covering. This is in-line with the campus-wide policy introduced by the University of Surrey.
The policy does not apply whilst taking part in sport and exercise and activity areas are exempt.
The University considers that the responsibility of wearing a face covering sits with individuals and we expect all our staff, students and public to adhere to this requirement where possible.
Please be mindful and respectful towards members of our community who, due to exceptional circumstances, may be unable to wear a face covering; their reasons may not be visible to others.
Thank you,
Surrey Sports Park
