Bike Share Scheme coming to Surrey Sports Park

We are pleased to announce that as part of the University of Surrey’s new bike share scheme, a number of docking stations are in the process of being installed at Surrey Sports Park with the aim of bringing Manor Park and Stag Hill closer together and reducing travelling time between the Sports Park, Vet School and Surrey Research Park.

A network of eight docking stations and 50 nextbikes will become available from August to help staff and students travel between sites and around the local area.

In the short term, this does mean that a number of public bicycle racks have been removed to accommodate the new scheme, however there are plans to install more in an alternative location in the near future.

The new racks will be part of bigger traffic control measures which we hope will be concluded by the end of August and will include pedestrian crossings, additional footpaths and railings to ensure the safety and convenience to pedestrians on the site.

Guest Notice – Face Coverings

From Saturday 19th September, it will be essential for every person in Surrey Sports Park’s communal areas to wear a face covering. This is in-line with the campus-wide policy introduced by the University of Surrey.

The policy does not apply whilst taking part in sport and exercise and activity areas are exempt.

The University considers that the responsibility of wearing a face covering sits with individuals and we expect all our staff, students and public to adhere to this requirement where possible.

Please be mindful and respectful towards members of our community who, due to exceptional circumstances, may be unable to wear a face covering; their reasons may not be visible to others.

Thank you,

Surrey Sports Park
