SSP members succeed in Concept2 rowing challenge
19 October 2012

A team of three SSP members have proved their rowing prowess in a recent month-long challenge set-up by rowing machine manufacturer Concept2.
The ‘SSP Am Ers’ made up of team captain Simon Loder, Richard Bradshaw and AJ Smith fought off competition from 90 other teams to finish as the highest placed ‘physical rowing team’ in the challenge – an incredible achievement!
The Concept2 Fall Team challenge which took place from 15th September – 15th October was to row as many metres as possible in a team of 1-5 people.
Simon, Richard and AJ competed in a team of 3 on the rowing machines at Surrey Sports Park and finished second behind a team that competed on water and a virtual machine, but with a grand total of 1,324,505 meters in just one month!
All keen rowers, Simon works at the University of Surrey in IT Services and was joined in the challenge by fellow Surrey Sports Park members AJ who is a local accountant and ex-Marine Richard who works on the Research Park at Detica.
