Storm confirm Cookey departure
20 September 2012

Surrey Storm Netball Club can confirm that former goal attack Pamela Cookey will be playing at Team Bath Netball for the 2013 Fiat Netball Superleague season.
This ends Pam’s season-long stint at Storm after joining Surrey from Team Bath at the beginning of the 2012 season.
Pam played a significant role in helping Storm’s charge to their second successive Superleague Final in May where Storm narrowly lost out to Northern Thunder 55-57.
Coach Tamsin Greenway is disappointed to lose her goal attack, but insists her squad has the quality to thrive without the 28-year-old this season.
“Pam was a great asset to Storm last season and we are all sad to lose her from our attack,” said Greenway.
“Sadly off-court commitments have meant it’s more convenient for her to play back down at Bath this season, but we wish Pam the best of luck.”
“We are well into our pre-season preparations now and with our first trials last night we hope to strengthen the quality we already have in the squad in the coming weeks.”
Talking on her Storm departure, Pam Cookey explained, “I had such a great season at Storm last year, but career developments and long travel times to games and training have been a big factor in my decision.”
“Thanks so much to the fans and the girls for welcoming me into your team and I wish everyone at Storm the best for the season ahead.”
Everyone at Surrey Storm would like to thank Pam for her contribution during her time at the club and wishes her good luck for the new season.
