Storm to host Mavericks in 2013 season opener

Surrey Storm will play host to Hertfordshire Mavericks in their opening game of the 2013 FIAT Netball Superleague at Surrey Sports Park, as fixtures have today been announced for the forthcoming season.
Storm were losing finalists for the second successive season in 2012 after finishing runners-up to Northern Thunder after a narrow 57-55 in Dagenham, and are out to make it third time lucky in 2013.
The new campaign begins with a huge local derby as Storm face last year’s semi-finalists Hertfordshire Mavericks at Surrey Sports Park on Saturday 9 February, 7.00pm.
Similarly to last season, Storm face each Superleague franchise once in phase 1 before the league splits in two for phase 2 of the campaign.
Storm fans can therefore already look forward to a fantastic set of initial home matches, with Storm due to face their 3 fellow top four teams at Surrey Sports Park in phase 1 of the competition!
Alongside the Mavericks opener, Storm are set to line up at home against Team Bath on Saturday 23 February, last year’s champions Northern Thunder on Monday 11 March and Team Northumbria on Friday 15 March.
The fixture list has also thrown up away ties against Loughborough Lightning, Yorkshire Jets and Celtic Dragons.
