Russell wins Paralympic Medal Number Two
03 September 2012

Guildford City Swimmer Hannah Russell has won her second medal of the London 2012 Paralympics following her silver medal last week.
Russell went straight into the final of the Women’s 100m Butterfly S12 event on Sunday evening, the second event of five for the Team GB swimmer, and took the bronze medal- the second medal of her debut Games.
She also recorded a British record, shaving 1.45 seconds off her own best time.
Talking to Get Surrey after the race, Russell said: "I am absolutely over the moon. To come here and get another medal in one of my main events is fantastic.
“I came here just to PB [personal best], enjoy the experience and get into finals. Any medals are just bonuses for me so I’m really pleased.
"Coming back from the 400m free[style] with a big PB gave me a lot more confidence and hopefully I can get some more this week.”
Russell will now go into her third event on Tuesday, taking part in the Women’s 100m Freestyle S12 event.
