Seven Teams Leave Surrey Sports Park for Olympic Village
24 July 2012

A number of Olympic and Paralympic nations have left Surrey Sports Park to continue their Games preparation in London.
Among the latest leavers are marathon runners and archers from Mongolia, table tennis, badminton and swimming athletes from Singapore, the Nigerian basketball squad, Dominican sprinters and further swimmers plus a weightlifter from the Philippines, Estonia and Sweden (Paralympic).
Following several successful training camps, the teams have left in prime condition and ready to take on the world at London 2012.
Talking on his blog upon leaving, Singapore swimming coach Sergio Lopez Miro said: “Their [Surrey Sports Park] kindness and professionalism has made this camp a huge success for us. Our swimmers have had a chance to practice in state of the art facilities with very good professionals running everything. From day one they open their facilities to all the Olympic Teams that have been here training. I can't speak for the other countries and teams but I really want to thank everyone for everything. We have been here for 15 days and honestly it has gone by very quickly.”
Three teams are currently still training at Surrey Sports Park (Cayman Islands, Spain and Malta), with another five due to arrive in the coming weeks.
