John Pidgeon & Co Crowned Squash Champions

Following several months of competition the inaugural Surrey Sports Park Business Squash League has come to a close, with John Pidgeon & Co coming out victorious.

The last week saw the teams compete in a quick fire singles tournament with three John Pidgeons ndividuals coming out on top including an impressive win by Lawrie who topped the table of the high performance event.

Roscoe Brown, Head of Partnerships at Surrey Sports Park, said: “It the biggest year of sport so far [for Surrey Sports Park] and this league has been a great way to develop not only our relationships with local business but it has also allowed the individuals to engage with others through sport. No longer is networking just 50 people stood in a room in suits and ties!”

John Pidgeon accepted the trophy on behalf of his team and thanked everyone for taking part in a competitive tournament. He also laid thanks to Roscoe and Surrey Sports Park for delivering the event.

Roscoe added that recruitment for next season (starting in August) was now underway: “We are hoping this month to appoint a sponsor for next year’s event and to grow it into 16 teams. The potential sponsor will also look to drive more engagement sessions to increase the opportunities for these business’ to play squash.”
