Team GB Table Tennis take on Singapore

Surrey Sports Park was treated to some competitive tennis on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning as the Team GB men’s Table Tennis squad were invited to take on Singapore in a range of friendly matches.
The four-strong team visited from their training base in Sheffield to take on Singapore, whom are training full time at Surrey Sports Park, to aid both teams’ preparations ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Paul Drinkhall, Andrew Baggaley, Liam Pitchford and first reserve Darius Knight hit the tables on Tuesday evening to face the Singapore women, including Beijing 2008 team silver medallists Feng Tianwei, Wang Yuegu and Li Jiawei. The Brits returned on Wednesday morning to take on the familiar men’s team following their meeting in the 2010 Commonwealth Games final, where the Asian nation took the gold medal.
Following their visit all four players left happy with their preparations and the venue itself.
Surrey Sports Park wishes Paul, Andrew, Liam and Darius all the best in London.
