‘Language Legends’ take Top Spot in Staff Sports Day

Surrey Sports Park hosted the annual University of Surrey Staff Sports Day last Friday afternoon, with a team from the Languages Department taking 1st place and lifting their hard-earned trophy!

6 teams from various University departments competed against one and other in activities including welly javelin, egg and spoon race, sake race, a penalty shootout, tug ‘o’ war and others. The afternoon was finished off with two races in the Olympic-sized pool, currently being used by a number of athletes training ahead of London 2012.

The ‘Language Legends’ eventually took the title with a significant lead over second place ‘Missed the Ark’ (Student Recruitment) who took an early lead after winning the opening two events.
