Surrey Sports Park to sponsor the P&G Surrey Youth Games

22 June 2012

Following a successful 2012 Games just last weekend, where Reigate and Banstead retained the title, the host venue is pleased to be forging another link to the event which sees over 2000 young people from around the county taking part in 13 different sports.

Surrey Sports Park will contribute funding of £20k per year in a mixture of cash and in kind support, and will take on the role of Coach Education Partner for the Youth Games. Part of this role will entail the organisation of "master classes" where high level coaches will share their knowledge with Youth Games coaches and thus raise the quality of coaching throughout Surrey.

Paul Blanchard, Surrey Sports Park Chief Executive, said "Surrey Sports Park is both proud and excited to continue our long association with the P&G Surrey Youth Games and we are delighted to announce our long-term support as host venue and Coach Education Partner from 2013.

“The Youth Games is a crucial sporting event for the community of Surrey and offers thousands of young people the chance to compete and participate in a range of sports in the world class sports facilities here at the University of Surrey. Events and facilities such as these are the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and we hope to continue to inspire young people to get involved in sport and lead healthy, active lifestyles."

Surrey Sports Park has successfully hosted the event since the first Games in 2010.
