This Weekend at SSP: Surrey Youth Games 2012

15 June 2012

SYG

The P&G Surrey Youth games are being held here at Surrey Sports Park this weekend.

The games are the biggest youth sporting event in Surrey with over 2,000 children taking part this year in a wide range of sports and activities. Every District and Borough in Surrey enters the games and it caters for all ages and abilities.

The countywide competition includes sports such as tennis, football, badminton and basketball as well as swimming and plenty of other sports including boxing and rugby.

The games aim to encourage more youth participation in sport, the creation of more sporting clubs and opportunities for involvement in the surrounding local area and to encourage fair play in sport.

Surrey Sports Play played host to the Surrey Youth Games in 2011 when over 2400 competitiors from around the county braved the rain throughout a wet and windy weekend, with Reigate and Banstead being crowned overall champions.

Don't forget that we have The Bench Bar and Restaurant here at SSP, with a great summer menu full of a range of main meals, light bites and desserts! The Good Time Guide Card and Gourmet Society members can get buy one get one free on all main meals and there will be deals on offer for sports card holders.

Good luck to everyone taking part!
