Storm reach Superleague Grand Final

Surrey Storm Netball defeated Team Bath in the Fiat Netball Superleague semi finals at the SportHouse in Dagenham, Essex to reach Sunday's Grand Final!

The game saw a solid performance from Storm. Players mid court found space well and Surrey took possession of the game early on. In the first few minutes, Bath’s passes were intercepted by the defending end and four consecutive goals scored, taking the sore to 7-1. Seaton played well, turning the ball round, but the quarter ended on a goal to Bath, due to missed shots from both Dunn and Cookey, leaving the score line at 16-8 after the first 15 minutes.

Quarter two continued in similar fashion, impressive team work around the shooting end, saw the goal difference maintained. A few decisions from the umpires landed in Storm’s favour and despite injury time for Greenway and a few Bath changes Storm comfortably dominated. At half time the score was 30-17.

Ainsworth came on for Trippick after half time, giving other players a chance to experience the occasion. Storm’s defence worked well throughout the game to turn the ball in their favour, while Bath struggled to keep up with the tight team work. The Somerset side's shooting wasn’t on par with their opponents and a flying interception from Greenway saw the quarter finish 47-26 to Storm.

With an almost unassailable lead Dunn swaped with Cookey, Greenway took to the bench, Ainsworth moved to WA, Trippick returned to C and Bello came on at WD. There was a quieter end to the game with some clumsy passes as Storm played a more passive game, knowing the win was confirmed and Bath were left tiresome for all of their efforts. The final score was left at 62-38 with Storm taking the spoils with ease.
