Surrey Sports Park welcomes First Olympic Athlete

The first athlete to arrive at Surrey Sports Park for a pre-Games training camp is Nigerian Canoeist Johny Akinyemi.

Johny will participate in the London 2012 canoe slalom competition and, after beating a current Olympic bronze medalist to qualify for the Games, presents a strong medal hope for his nation.

As the first ever canoeist from the African nation, Johny is excited to be able to bring some exposure to the sport this summer.
