Surrey Sports Park Celebrates 2nd Birthday

19th April 2012 marks the 2nd birthday of Surrey Sports Park, and two years of fantastic sport at the University of Surrey!

It has certainly been an exceptionally successful two years for everyone at Surrey Sports Park, going from opening a brand new multi-million pound facility to hosting major events such as the 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup and professional teams including Surrey Storm Netball, Harlequins Rugby Union and Guildford Heat Basketball; to welcoming our many very special members and guests who train and play here on a daily basis.

But it doesn’t stop there for Surrey Sports Park, as Chief Executive Officer Paul Blanchard discusses: “These two years have proved just how Surrey Sports Park is capable of providing sporting opportunities to everyone in the local, national and international community. Now we are looking forward to welcoming Olympic athletes from various nations this summer in the lead up to London 2012 which will really showcase to the world that Surrey Sports Park is a premier sports facility open to all.”
