Harlequins take the spoils at Wembley

01 April 2012

Harlequins held off a late Saracens fight back in front of a world record club attendance of 83,761 to take a six point lead at the top of the Aviva Premiership.

With Harlequins reduced to 13 men after sin-bins for Joe Marler and Danny Care and then to Nick Easter, Saracens capitalised in the closing stages. Harlequins' defence was heroic to shut out the reigning Aviva Premiership Champions in the final moments and the visitors held on for a 19-24 victory.

Tries came from George Lowe, Danny Care and Jordan Turner Hall with conversions from Rory Clegg and Nick Evans.

The Harlequins now sit 6 points ahead of Saracens and will next face London Wasps at the Stoop on April 14th.
