The Guildford Sport Relief Mile 2012
14 March 2012

The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile is coming to Guildford on Sunday 25 March and is set to be an unforgettable day!
There is still time to bag your place on the circuit so don’t miss this opportunity to be part of something amazing – enter the Mile online NOW!
Taking place on the University of Surrey campus, the Guildford Mile is set to be an incredible event and will be aiming to retain it's title of being the biggest locally run Mile event in the UK.
All of the money raised by the public will help people living unimaginably tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries. The last Guildford Mile in 2010 raised a massive £44,000, making a massive difference to the lives of so many people.
Participants can choose their own distance from one, three or six miles and can complete it in any way they fancy. From teeny tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock, there’s something for everyone on the big day.
Regardless of whether you are running or not bring your whole family along on the day. Sport Relief is taking over the University for the event and there will be loads of fun family activities to take part in. Why not have fun on our fayre stalls, get your face painted or find out where you money goes in our Sport Relief exhibition. A raffle will also be held on the day with some massive prizes from companies in the local area including a voucher for a free pair of specialist running shoes from MBT, a £100 voucher for CAU Restaurant and 'money-cant-buy tickets' to a Cinderella Ball at the Radisson Hotel! For the adults there will also be massages from Eden People and a whole host of other activities to try!
Sport Relief has a unique history of dedicated people doing extraordinary things to go the extra mile. Last September David Walliams took on the BT Sport Relief Challenge, Walliams vs The Thames, and despite battling a nasty bacterial bug and bitingly cold water swam a staggering 140 miles, raising over £1million! There will be even more amazing celebrity challenges to get the whole nation geared up for the Sport Relief Weekend on Friday 23th March, with an evening of exciting entertainment on BBC1.
