Captain Cookey named alongside Greenway and Dunn for England vs Barbados Series

Surrey Storm’s Pamela Cookey has been named England captain for the upcoming home series against Barbados, with fellow teammates Tamsin Greenway and Rachel Dunn also making the squad.

Captain Cookey, Greenway and Dunn will face Barbados in a three match series that will head to the LG Arena in Birmingham, the Sports Training Village at the University of Bath and Storm’s home Surrey Sports Park in the final game of the series on Saturday 14th April. Tickets for the Surrey Sports Park match are SOLD OUT.

Upon being named captain Cookey said, “It’s an honour to lead out my county and we are all excited about welcoming the Barbados team to England

England are currently ranked third in the world and will be favourites to secure more success over their Caribbean counterparts who reside in ninth position in the rankings.

This will also be the first time that Head Coach Anna Mayes will lead her side in a home international as preparation for the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and World Championships in 2015 begins in earnest.
