Synchro Woolley to complete UK Sport Coaching Programme

08 March 2012

Surrey Sports Park’s Synchnronised Swimming Development Coach Louise Woolley is to take part in a UK Sport Programme designed to raise coaches all over the UK to the top of their game.

Louise has been given a unique opportunity as 1 of only 25 people from various sports to participate in the organisation’s Aspire Coach Programme, for coaches with future potential at Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games. She is also the sole Synchronised Swimming representative and the first from the sport to ever be accepted onto a UK Sport Coaching programme.

The aim of the Aspire Coach programme is to “support the potential transition of coaches to the Elite Coaching Apprenticeship Programme and the World Class Coach Development Programmes.” Louise will be involved in a mixture of styles of teaching, including practical sessions analysing her coaching and leadership skills.

Upon her selection onto the programme Louise said: “It's an honour to be accepted to this programme and I'm looking forward to meeting the other coaches on it. I'm sure once we all get talking we can learn a lot from each other. It also gives me access to many personal development opportunities that wouldn't otherwise be available.”
