This Weekend at Surrey Sports Park

27 January 2012

Surrey Sports Park will welcome its fair share of top class sports people this weekend, alongside a few potential future stars.

Saturday afternoon sees the first home fixture of the season for Surrey Storm, as they face Loughborough Lightning. Storm have started the season well, defeating last year’s play-off winners Hertfordshire Mavericks just over a week ago in front of the Sky cameras. They will be looking to continue that excellent start tomorrow in front of a sell-out crowd.

Netball swaps to basketball on Sunday afternoon as Guildford Heat aim to maintain their recent pick up in form and rise up the BBL table. Milton Keynes Lions are in town to stop Heat on their home court, and tickets are still available via the Box Office for fans to come down and cheer on Guildford’s top basketball side!

Surrey Sports Park will also play host to the Surrey Schools Games Tesco Cup on Saturday, as a young crop of sporting talent takes to our astro turf pitch in a county battle. The England Women’s Rugby Union squad are also in for a weekend long training camp ahead of their RBS 6 Nations campaign in February.
