Storm join Thunder, Jets and Dragons in Friday's Fast Net Finals
10 January 2012

A thrilling weekend of action has whittled the field down to four, with Surrey champions Surrey Storm joining Manchester champions Northern Thunder, Yorkshire Jets and Celtic Dragons in the Finals Nights to see who will be crowned overall champions of the Catherdral City Lighter Fast Net Grand Prix.
Some scintillating play was witnessed by sell-out crowds in Manchester and Surrey as the competition captured the imagination of the crowd and produced drama throughout the weekend.
The success of the weekend hasn’t gone unnoticed. Jackie Wilson, Marketing Manager, of title sponsors Cathedral City said: “We are extremely excited to be working with England Netball to support the Netball Superleague and Cathedral City Lighter Fast Net Grand Prix. We hope the sponsorship of this fantastic event will help catapult more local female role models into the media limelight as these talented sportswomen are currently under-recognised! A massive congratulations to Northern Thunder and Surrey Storm for winning their respective Conference finals and to Yorkshire Jets and Celtic Dragons for qualifying for Finals Night. We cannot wait until the finals, which are sure to be nail-bitingly close.”
Superleague General Manager, Andy Crook said “Following on from the superb victory of the England teams at the World Netball Series in Liverpool, there was no better time to host a top flight domestic version of the game. The first instalment of the Cathedral City Lighter Fast Net Grand Prix was an overwhelming success both on the court and off of it. Both the Manchester and Surrey Conferences were a complete sell out and with home crowd support cheering them on, Northern Thunder and Surrey Storm played superbly to come away victorious in their respective Conferences.”
