Boat Club Paddle in the Points

The University of Surrey Boat Club enjoyed a good week after some great individual performances and results.
In the women’s heavyweight indoor Rowing competition Aimée Jonckers took 7th place, while Henry Pelly came 3rd in the men’s equivalent. Henry also came 8th in the weekends’ Team GB Rowing trials in the heavyweight single scull, pushing him closer to a place in the Olympics!
Equestrian 1st headed down to Brighton for their competition, taking a 3rd place overall. Elizabeth Ward took 5th and Emily Chomicz 8th in their respective events.
Two teams had great results against our Varsity rivals Kingston, with Men’s Badminton 2nd bringing home a 7-1 win, while Netball 1st took on Kingston 1st and comfortably won 44-36.
Men’s Rugby Union 1st are through to the last 16 of their cup competition after defeating the University of the Arts 1st.
Last week’s results put Team Surrey in 50th place in the BUCS league table.
