Food for Sport event a tasty success
16 November 2011
Earlier this month The Nutrition Society held an event at Surrey Sports Park titled ‘Food for Sport: Science into Practise’ and hailed the two-day conference a success.
In reaction to their experience, Najnal Zdravics from The Nutrition Society said: “This comprehensive two day Sport and Exercise Nutrition Training Day and Conference provided a mix of practical and theoretical sessions for professionals working in sport and sport nutrition/dietetics based on the highly anticipated Sport and Exercise Nutrition Textbook.
The venue provided a high energy backdrop to the event especially the Activity Studios and Surrey Human Performance Institute laboratories. It was generally felt that rooms provided were suitable for delegates, allowing for group-work and discussions on the Training Day and for networking on the Conference Day. Refreshments were a good quality and plenty; delegates especially welcomed fresh fruit during the day. The Olympic buffet menu was great quality and very well-received also owing to a good wine selection.”
Surrey Storm Netball’s Tamsin Greenway also spoke at the event, giving a current perspective on sports nutrition from an international standard athlete.
