Heath picks up Surrey Sports Park award

European champion canoeist Liam Heath was awarded the Surrey Sports Park Senior Athlete of the Year prize at the Guildford Sport Awards.

The 27 year old Wey Kayak Club paddler was nominated alongside taekwondo’s Andy Shenton but came out tops alongside a range of award winning Surrey athletes.

Earlier this year Heath defended his Euro K2 200m title before taking silver at the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Hungry, qualifying for Team GB ahead of the London 2012 Olympics.
