Guildford Heat are back!

Check out members of the new Guildford Heat team in a friendly game against USA Select on Saturday 17 September at 7pm at Surrey Sports Park, with kids tickets for just £1!

As always, in addition to the fast-paced basketball, there will be entertainment from the team’s lively mascot, Scorcher and an opportunity for spectators to shoot baskets during half time.

According to coach Creon Raftopoulos, “"We have a couple of players trying out for the BBL team this season who will be playing for the Heat against USA Select. This will give me the perfect opportunity to judge these players in a game situation rather than practise and drills where there is not much pressure to deal with.

“We normally play a pre-season friendly against a team in the EBL division one, but as their season is underway, there wasn’t an EBL team available for us to play against. It’s great news that USA Select have agreed to play us. It will be a good challenge for us and an opportunity for the players to gel and get their bodies adjusted up to game speed before our first BBL game.”

USA Select consists of talented US players, who have all graduated from colleges in America and are touring Europe to showcase their talent. Their team consists of former high school basketball ‘standouts’ who are ‘trying for a shot in Europe."

Adult tickets will be charged at a child ticket rate of £6.50 for the pre-season friendly (£8.50 for a premium seat). Kids will be charged just £1 at ticket (£3 for a premium seat).
