100% Record for England Squash in Germany

24 August 2011

England Squash have progressed into the last 16 of the World Mens Team Squash Championships in Paderborn after three wins out of three in the group stages.

The England quartet comprising of Peter Barker, Daryl Selby, James Willstrop and world number one Nick Matthew brushed aside opponents from Spain, Ireland and hosts Germany to top the group, and will now face unseeded Hong Kong in Round 2.

The top seeded team will be hopeful of some success in Germany, despite their main rivals Egypt also enjoying a smooth ride through the group stage, beating England’s next opponents in the process.

England begin their tie with Hong Kong at 2pm local time today. Live scores can be tracked via the tournament website here.

England Squash trained at Surrey Sports Park in preparation for the tournament, which follow the Australian Open earlier this month.
