The WSF Men’s World Team Championship gets under way today, featuring 14 of the world’s top 15 squash players.
England have been named as top seeds ahead of defending champions Egypt and will be led by world number one Nick Matthew, who narrowly lost in his last outing in the Australian Open final against Egyptian Ramy Ashour.
Matthew and his fellow English stars will face hosts Germany in Pool A, alongside Spain and Ireland.
The tournament in Paderborn begins today with the final taking place on August 27th. With a strong presence at the tournament, England will be looking to improve their last performance where they placed 4th after an early injury for the world number one.
England Squash trained at Surrey Sports Park last month ahead of the tournament, and in preparation for the Australian Open which took place earlier in August.
The Team’s progress will be followed on the Surrey Sports Park website.
