British Colleges National Netball Squad round-up season at Surrey Sports Park

15 August 2011

British Colleges National Netball Squad travelled to Surrey Sports Park for their final training and fixtures weekend of their season.

The squad, consisting of talented Netballers who are selected from any colleges affiliated to British Colleges Sport, have had a full but varied season, having previously played against some of the NTL franchises as well as the Northern Ireland National teams.

National Manager and Coach, Louise Hall, said 'we were very keen to play against teams from the Surrey area, and in particular to allow the girls the experience of training and competing in the outstanding facilities available at Surrey Sports Park. After participating in a superb and lengthy training session with Tamsin Greenway (Surrey Storm) on Saturday, the girls quizzed the England and Surrey Storm star on her recent World Championships experience and benefited from her expertise and advice on their futures.

We also played highly competitive matches against various Surrey Storm NTL and Regional Academy players on Sunday, and despite two close losses in the games, our squad found it an invaluable experience. We will definitely be back at Surrey Sports Park as part of our programme next year, and must extend our special thanks to our photographer Mike French from Meonshore Studios, Tamsin Greenway, Emma Blackmore, and in particular Gems Leaming and the other friendly, helpful staff at the Sports Park'.
