Easter to take on Welsh in World Cup Warm-up

12 August 2011

Quins’ Nick Easter will start in England’s back-row as they take on Wales for the second weekend in succession.

Danny Care, who featured for an hour in last week’s win, has been selected as a replacement after a squad rotation which was 13 changes to the side that defeated the Welsh at Twickenham last weekend.

Talking to ITV Sport Easter recognises that competition for places is higher than ever: “I’ve got 80 minutes to prove myself on Saturday. It was a tough test against them last Saturday. This Saturday they’re at home and they’ve got a few guys back so they’ll be a different proposition.”

Easter’s full interview with ITV Sport can be viewed here.

England kick-off at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff tomorrow (Saturday) at 2.30pm. The Bench Bar at Surrey Sports Park will be showing the game live from 1.30pm, with buy one get one free offers on all draught products for Sports Card holders. Arsenal’s season opener away to Newcastle will follow the rugby from 5pm and card holders can get their hands on a 4 pint jug of Becks Vier for £10 as well as 20% off all food orders until 7:30pm.
