09 August 2011

World number one and Commonwealth gold medal winner Nick Matthew and his fellow English counterparts have made a successful start to the Australian Squash Open in Canberra.
Nick Matthew beat Stephen Coppinger in the main draw whilst there were also wins for James Willstrop, Pete Barker and Adrian Grant.
The English players stand a fair chance of success at the tournament, with 4 of the top 12 players in their ranks.
The team spent three days preparing for the tournament at Surrey Sports Park and have the World Team Championships in Germany to look forward to later in the month.
