Surrey Graduate is China-bound for World University Games
02 August 2011

Former University of Surrey Business Management student Margaret Adeoye is heading to China later this month for the World University Games in Shenzhen, China.
Margaret’s selection for the GB Athletics squad follows her success in last year’s BUCS outdoor championships where she bagged two gold medals in the 100 and 200m finals, running personal bests in both events.
She heads into the Games in high spirits after picking up a bronze medal in the 200m final at the National Championships last weekend, missing out on a silver medal by just two tenths of a second.
Talking about her selection Margaret is appreciative of the chance she has ahead of her: “To be selected for the University games is a fantastic stepping stone for me and I am very happy to have been picked. I have had a great winter and am in the best shape of my life to date. I just really want to perform well because I know I can!”
The World University Games kick off on August 13th and Margaret’s progress can be followed on the Surrey Sports Park website.
