Team Singapore make a racquet at Surrey Sports Park

Following on from the arrival of the shooting athletes last week those training for badminton and table tennis have arrived.

One of the Sports Park’s arenas has undergone an unusual transformation with a space more used to badminton and basketball becoming home to 5 international standard tables for tennis.

Top Singaporean athletes, including reigning Olympic table tennis silver medallists Feng Tianwei, Li Jiawei, Wang Yuegu, Sun Beibei and Yu Mengyu are among the arrivals, alongside a strong field of badminton and other table tennis Olympic hopefuls.

During their time here the badminton athletes will compete in the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships at Wembley Arena on 8-14 August 2011. Their progress will be tracked on the Surrey Sports Park website.
