Finance Department crowned champions of Staff Challenge Cup

Team ‘Shark’s Finn’ from Finance came out tops in the Challenge Cup at the Sports Park, narrowly edging out ‘All Over It’ (It Services) and the ‘Students’ Union’ teams.

Six teams from across the University took part in the afternoon of social sports, with sack and egg & spoon races, tug-of-war and wellie throwing, followed by pool races. All participants were enthusiastic, with teams even bringing down dedicated crews of supporters! The afternoon was rounded off with a BBQ and quiz night to test the teams’ brains rather than brawn.

The final results were as follows:
1. Shark’s Fin (Finance) (54 points)
2. All Over It (IT Services) (52 points)
=. Students’ Union (52 points)
4. Jim Nasium (Faculty of Management and Law) (38 points)
5. Alumni (33 points)
6. Doctor’s Orders (Engineering) (24 points)
