Surrey Storm looked fighting fit as they trained at Surrey Sports Park for the final time last night, ahead of Thursday's FIAT Netball Superleague Grand Final versus Hertfordshire Mavericks.

Storm go into their first ever Superleague final in Hatfield on Thursday night, after knocking out Team Bath and Northern Thunder in the play-offs. The final is a repeat of round 18 of the FNSL, which saw Mavericks and Storm play out a 48-48 draw, and the final promises to be another tight affair.

The Sky Sports cameras were on hand to film Storm's final preparations at the Sports Park last night, and the squad were in good spirits.

Speaking after their training session, Storm Goal Keeper, Hannah Reid, said, "I’m really excited! The girls have been working really hard and we’re still buzzing off the last few games so we’re just looking forward to getting out there now!"

Storm Centre Becky Trippick, said, "We’re obviously hugely confident but we're well aware that it is going to be a really tight game. Mavericks are a classy side packed full of Internationals in all areas of the court. They're not a team to be underestimated, but we are enjoying being the underdogs and just can’t wait to get out there and play."

Although the final is being held in Hertfordshire instead of a neutral venue, Storm's Natalie Seaton doesn't see home advantage playing a key role in this showpiece match. She said, "We have been playing better away from home and we have a great group of travelling supporters who we know will be behind us!"

Mavericks undoubtedly have one of the most talented squads in the Superleague, yet Seaton sees a number of players that Storm will need to keep a closer eye on come Thursday night.

She said, "They’ve got 12 players who we will be watching out for but obviously Lousia Brownfield, Sasha Corbin and Karen Atkinson are key and we will be trying to keep them quiet!"

Tickets for the final are now sold out, but the game will be shown live on Sky Sports 3 from 7.30pm, with updates available on twitter and facebook.
