Cuba defeated Germany 58-51 to clinch the British Basketball Invitational trophy at Surrey Sports Park, whilst elsewhere the Standard Life GB women wrapped up the tournament with a 67-64 victory against Latvia in the final game.

Both Cuba and Germany went into the game with perfect records, but a strong first half paved the way for the impressive Cubans to take the title with three straight wins.

Meanwhile Tom Maher's GB side ensured they finished third in the competition thanks to a strong first half at Surrey Sports Park.

Standard Life GB guard, Stef Collins said: "Today was a great win, we're pretty excited to have achieved that at our home tournament. Our first two games were tough especially as it's the first couple of games we've played together so we're just getting a feel for each other. Germany were a very tough squad for our first game, but now that we've played Cuba we know that we can play at that level."
