Become a Cheerleader for the day and perform with the BBL Babes
08 April 2011

For girls who have dreamed of becoming a cheerleader and performing in front of a large crowd, their dreams can now come true!
On Sunday 10 April, the BBL Babes, the official cheerleaders for the British Basketball League, will be running a one hour cheerleading workshop at Surrey Sports Park for girls aged 7 and over. Places are limited and must be booked by Saturday 10 April, 3pm.
From 1pm until 2pm, girls will learn the latest routines under the expert tuition of the BBL Babes. The girls and BBL Babes will then perform together in front of the home crowd during Guildford Heat’s game against Leicester Riders which starts at 3pm.
According to Alison Reeve, owner of Guildford Heat, “This a great opportunity for young girls to become cheerleading stars for an afternoon, performing at a premier league sports game. This season, we have had crowds of almost 1,000 people at our home games at Surrey Sports Park – so with coaching from the BBL Babes and an enthusiastic home crowd supporting the game, children will be given a fantastic opportunity to be a ‘real cheerleader’ for the day.
“The BBL Babes are one of the best cheerleading groups in the country and they will be performing at our home game in order to promote the Play-Off final, which is taking place at NIA in Birmingham on 30 April. Their appearance coincides with the last scheduled game of the season for Guildford Heat, although we are hoping to make the Play Offs and continue to play games until the end of April. Hopefully, the promise of the fantastic BBL Babes at our last scheduled home game will attract a record crowd.”
The cheerleading workshop cost is £10 per child. Guildford Heat is also offering specially priced game tickets for the child and parent at £10 for the pair.
