09 March 2011

The past weekend saw over 3000 junior rugby players and fans descend on Surrey Sports Park for the 2011 Guildford Rugby Football Club Minis B Festival and the Harlequins hosted Land Rover Premiership Rugby Club.
The weekend saw Harlequins host an action packed Under 12 and Under 11 grassroots festival, the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup and Guildford Rugby Football Club host the Under 7, Under 8, Under 9 and Under 10 Minis B Festival.
There was plenty of young talented rugby players on show and the event was a 'huge success'.
Richard Varney, from Harlequins' Community department commented: "The facilities at Surrey Sports Park were enjoyed by over 32 of Surrey's junior rugby clubs. For many of the youngsters these were the best set of pitches they have ever played on. Whilst our first team players experience this day, in day out, it's great they share and showpiece the venue to grass roots rugby. It was a huge success."
