Women’s Rugby World Cup sells-out again

For the third match day in succession Women’s Rugby World Cup organisers have confirmed that the full house signs will be up at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford on Saturday, August 28 as the pool phase reaches a dramatic conclusion.
- Match day three sells-out as semi final places are decided
- England meet USA at 6.30pm on Saturday for a last four place
In the race for semi final places hosts England face USA (6.30pm) with Ireland playing Kazakhstan (4.30pm) and all but the Asian champions still in with a chance of reaching the final four.
In Pool A defending champions New Zealand face Wales (2pm), while Australia take on South Africa (4.15pm). The Pool C decider will see France play Canada (2.15pm) for the automatic semi final spot, after Scotland play Sweden (midday) in the opening game of the day.
"We are delighted to see so many fans from so many nations come and support the Women’s Rugby World Cup here at Surrey Sports Park," said IRB Tournament Director Philippe Bourdarias.
"The matches have been hugely entertaining and fans have enjoyed a festival atmosphere with some wonderful skill and breathtaking moments of rugby on display.
"I am sure Saturday will be the same, with the added incentive of semi final places up for grabs. With over 8,000 fans expected through the gate for the Pool stages, this is a record-breaking success for Women’s Rugby World Cup."
To accommodate the demand for the thousands of fans who purchased tournament passes, organisers have also confirmed that matches will begin earlier than previously advertised on Sunday, September 5 at Surrey Sports Park, allowing fans to attend matches at there and at the Twickenham Stoop where the WRWC Final and the 3rd and 4th place play offs take place.
The new start times at Surrey Sports Park on September 5 are as follows:
- Match 25 Kick-off at 11am on Pitch 2
- Match 26 Kick-off at 11.15am on Pitch 1
- Match 27 Kick-off at 1.15pm on Pitch 2
- Match 28 Kick-off at 1.30pm on Pitch 1
