READ FOR COMPETITION TO WIN TICKETS TO GB WOMEN V PORTUGAL - SATURDAY 17 JULY, 7PM!

The Great Britain Women’s Basketball team are now just over a week away from the first of two international basketball matches at Guildford’s very own Surrey Sports Park, and after spending the last week training at the complex, star player Stef Collins is assured the team are ready.

The GB Women are currently using Surrey Sports Park as their summer training base, and Saturday 17 July sees Great Britain take on Portugal at 7.00pm in a Test game at Surrey Sports Park ahead of their Eurobasket qualifying campaign later next month.

GB Guard, Stef Collins hopes training and playing at the “five star” facilities at Surrey Sports Park can give Team GB the edge. She said, “We have been only training a week here at Surrey Sports Park, but the facilities are amazing, which makes eating, sleeping and training in the same place so much easier. We train on the sprung wooden floor for most the day, which is absolutely brilliant, as they are so hard to come by in the UK – let alone with this quality.”

“After training so hard for the summer, we need to make the most of all this hard work and make it count in the matches. Portugal will be a great game; we just hope there will be a good crowd to watch us play, so make sure you head down to Surrey Sports Park!”

Tickets for the Great Britain v Portugal Test Game are only £5, and available to purchase online here or at Surrey Sports Park.

GB Basketball’s Eurobasket 2011 Qualifier against Ukraine is also being held at Surrey Sports Park later next month, on Friday 20 August at 7.00pm. Tickets for this match are also on sale now here.
