Summary

Work has started on a multi-million pound project to tackle congestion on Egerton Road and the roundabout outside Surrey Sports Park, the Surrey Research Park and Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Surrey County Council has joined forces with the University of Surrey to launch a £4m scheme to improve traffic flow at the busy roundabout, which is a key access site in Guildford.

A crossroads with traffic lights will replace the roundabout at the junction of Egerton Road and Gill Avenue. In addition, there will also be better facilities for cyclists and pedestrians with new footpaths, toucan crossings and bus stop relocations.
