Surrey Sports Park Guidelines and Conditions for Parking

New Car Park Guidelines launched June 2010

These guidelines and conditions have been developed to ensure all Surrey Sports Park (SSP) Guests enjoy accessible and easy parking during their visit. The SSP management would be grateful if Guests follow these conditions and guidelines as we believe they will ensure your visit to SSP is enjoyable.

1. Philosophy

SSP endeavour to offer free parking for all SSP Guests. However, regardless of these conditions and guidelines SSP management can not guarantee a car parking space for your visit.

2. Surrey Sports Park – Parking Facilities

SSP offer two areas of parking. The main parking is found adjacent to the SSP building and is accessible throughout the hours of opening. The second parking facility is an overflow car park (near the main entrance and next to the Nursery) and can be used as an extra parking area when main parking is full. However, there may be times when the overflow car park may be used for Event only parking. Appropriate signage will indicate these occasions.

3. Parking Permits

Free Parking permits are available to all SSP Public and Staff Members. However student permits are not available. Student parking falls under the condition of the University of Surrey Transport policy 2009/2010 (please see http://portal.surrey.ac.uk/transporthttp://portal.surrey.ac.uk/transport for more details)

4. You may park at Surrey Sports Park main car park whilst visiting SSP facilities, up to a total general parking limit of 3-hour, unless an OFFICIAL SIGN is displayed which indicates otherwise (please apply at Front of House.

5. You may park in the Overflow Car Park from 16:30 to Close Monday to Friday and during opening hours all weekend.

6. You may park without paying where a fee is required for a PARKING SPACE in the overflow car park.

7. However, you CANNOT park:

• In no stopping zones
• In no parking zones
• Longer than 3 hour limit (unless Official Sign displayed)
• Outside the times noted above (and no over night parking)
• On or over a pathway
• In such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic
• In a fire route
• Within any bus stop
• In any other location where parking would create an obvious hazard or impediment
. In the overflow car park when it is being specifically reserved for an event

8. Please also note the following:

SSP parking permits shall not be altered or defaced in any way. Photocopied or reproduced copies (by any means) are not valid.

Your SSP parking permit is not transferable, so must only be used by yourself when visiting SSP.

9. Display of Permit

Your SSP permit should be affixed or displayed face up on the dash, driver's side.  Only one pass/permit needs to be displayed

10. Limitation of Liability

Any motor vehicles parked, operated or driven on SSP facilities should be done so solely at the risk of the owner and the operator. SSP will not be liable for damage to any such motor vehicle, vehicle contents, the operator, other occupants, or any other person.

If damage or inconvenience is occasioned to any motor vehicle being removed or towed away or impounded pursuant to the regulations, neither SSP nor its servants or agents will be liable or responsible in any way whatsoever for said damage or inconvenience. Nothing in this paragraph will affect the liability of any independent contractor carrying out the removal, towing away, or impoundment of the vehicle.
